Rare Vintage Brass Bell Made by Jeff Cross

40 USD

I have for sale a very nice rare vintage large brass high quality bell that has a beautiful harmonious sound! I do not know the age. I am guessing mid century.
It is obviously handmade. It is inscribed on the top by the artisan. The marks from what I can determine are -: JC / Jeff Cross Made Me
There is a slit up one side of the bell and two seashells, on opposite sides. The links and rod holding the tripod ringer are I think copper.
Measurements are - bell itself 6"h and 6" w in diameter at the base. Above, the brass scroll arm with the copper links is 9" long, and below, the ringer hangs out a little. So all together the total is about 18" for hanging length.

According to the internet, the artisan, Jeff Cross, passed away in 1977 but his company Harmony Hollow Chimes still exists as a family enterprise making chimes. Seashells were important to Jeff Cross for symbolizing his vision of the vibration sound that gets you back in touch with Nature's pulse. The larger bells which he made I have found to be very very hard to find.

This unusual vintage bell has had I'm sure and still has many uses - marine, school, farmhouse, ranch, or simply as a dinner bell! Or just hang it on the porch beside the front door!
I bought it many years ago at an estate sale outside of Denver.
NOTE: The white metal hanger is new and is included as a way to hang it on a side wall instead of from the ceiling.
The price for this bell is $40.
